GTM MCP server

GTM MCP server connects your AI app to GTM. It lets you tell your AI app what you want to do in GTM, from creating tags and triggers to managing containers, variables, templates, and user permissions. 

How to access the GTM MCP server

GTM MCP server is available to all Stape users. To use it, you need Node.js v18 or higher and an AI app that supports MCP, for example, Claude Desktop.

How the GTM MCP server works

GTM MCP server is a layer between your AI app and Google Tag Manager. You type a request in your AI app, and the MCP server turns it into a GTM API action.

For example, you can ask the AI app to list tags, create a trigger, update a variable, or check user permissions. The MCP server sends the request to GTM using the Google account you connected during OAuth.
