OpenAI Ads Events API tag

The OpenAI Ads Conversions API tag by Stape is a server-side Google Tag Manager template that allows you to send conversion events directly from your server to OpenAI Ads. It helps improve tracking reliability and provides better-quality data for campaign optimization.

Add the OpenAI Ads Conversions API Tag template to your server GTM container from the GTM Template Gallery.

Then configure your OpenAI Ads credentials and event settings in your server container.

After adding the tag, specify your OpenAI Ads Pixel ID, API access token, and event parameters. The tag receives data from your server-side tracking setup and forwards events such as purchases, leads, and other conversions to OpenAI Ads.

The tag supports:

• Sending website conversion events through the OpenAI Conversions API.
• Automatic event parameter mapping from incoming server-side requests.
• Event ID support for deduplication with the OpenAI Ads Pixel tag for web GTM.
• User data parameters to improve event matching and attribution.
• Server-side tracking to reduce the impact of browser limitations and ad blockers.

• More accurate conversion tracking. The tag sends events directly from the server instead of relying only on browser-based tracking. This way, the data loss caused by ad blockers, cookie restrictions, and browser limitations is reduced.
• Better event matching. Send additional customer information and event parameters through the Conversions API, helping OpenAI Ads better match conversions to users.
• Improved campaign optimization. Share more complete and reliable conversion data with OpenAI Ads; help the advertising algorithms understand meaningful user actions and improve campaign targeting accordingly.
• Simplified OpenAI Ads API integration. Use a server GTM template instead of developing a custom API connection and launch Conversions API tracking faster with fewer technical resources.
