Step 6. Everything is set up. What to do next?
Updated Apr 10, 2025
What's next? What do you do after setting up the server-side Google Tag Manager (sGTM) through Stape? Is it possible to improve tracking and conversion? Of course, not just possible but necessary. And Stape provides the following opportunities:
1. Setting up server tracking with popular platforms
Stape offers a wide range of tools to improve server tracking. In particular, you can configure tracking for different platforms by selecting the appropriate tag: Facebook, Google Ads, Google Analytics, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.
Complete information about the possibilities of configuring tracking for individual platforms using the sGTM Tag you can find in Stape → Solutions → sGTM tag.
2. Expanding opportunities with power-ups
Power-ups are Stape's additional features that help to improve tracking accuracy and avoid blockers.
How to activate Power-Ups?
- Log in to your
- Click the Power-ups tab.
- Select and activate the required functions.

Which power-ups could be enabled?
Overcome advertising blocks
Custom GTM and GA4 Loader changes the loading path of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 scripts, making them less visible to ad blockers and tracking prevention algorithms.
Extend the duration of cookies
Cookie Keeper helps extend the validity of cookies set by third-party IP addresses, even in browsers with the latest ITP versions.
Detect and filter bots
Bot Detection determines whether there is an incoming request from the bot, helping to filter out unwanted traffic and improve the quality of data in your analytics.
In addition, Stape offers a list of power-ups, which will help customize and optimize tracking processes and process data according to specific needs.
3. Server GTM configuration with additional protection
If setting up a server-side Google Tag Manager (sGTM) seems too complicated or time-consuming for you, Stape offers a ready-made solution – Gateways.
Gateways are Stape solutions that simplify server-side tracking configuration without requiring a complex server container configuration. They work as intermediaries between your site and analytics and advertising platforms, automatically transmitting events and user data through a server.
How do Gateways work?
You connect the necessary platforms (for example, Facebook, Google Analytics, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.). Stape configures data transfer via secure server communication. Data is transmitted without loss, bypassing browser tracking restrictions (for example, blocking cookies).
Varieties of Gateways:
4. Use additional Stape features
In addition to power-ups and integrations, Stape provides features to improve the server tracking process and increase the efficiency of data collection.
Monitoring
The Monitoring from Stape allows you to quickly detect and receive notifications about any anomalies or tracking problems. It is available for Stape users with Business, Enterprise, and Custom plans. Monitoring works based on container logs and can be configured to track changes in the number of events based on their name, client, platform, and status code.
Stape Store
Stape Store is a built-in NoSQL database integrated with Stape's server-side Google Tag Manager hosting. It lets you quickly read, write, and synchronize data without additional settings or authorization. The Stape Store interface is similar to Firebase, making it easier for those familiar with Firestore to use. This feature is available to users with a Pro plan or higher at no additional cost.
Logs
The Logs function allows monitoring data transmission, response codes, and process parameters, which is important for identifying potential problems with the network or external services. There are four types of logs: Access Logs, Request Logs, Response Logs, and Other Logs. Users with a Pro and Pro+ plan have access to the logs for the last three days, and those on the Business plan or higher have access for the previous ten days.
Stape Analytics
Stape Analytics is a tool that allows you to evaluate the effectiveness of server tracking by providing a detailed analysis of the collected data. It helps determine how much data quality has improved since the introduction of server-based tracking and precisely how many requests have been recovered, bypassing ad blockers and browser restrictions. The Stape Analytics dashboard provides a breakdown of queries by client (e.g., GA4, Data Client) and event name, allowing detailed tracking performance analysis.
