Nuvemshop app troubleshooting

Duplicate events and over-reporting

Issue: If your Nuvemshop store already has another integration or GTM setup that sends ecommerce events, the same actions may be pushed to the dataLayer more than once. For example, both setups can generate a purchase or add_to_cart event, causing your GTM tags to fire multiple times and over-report conversions.

Solution: Open the app's Data Layer settings and enable Decorate dataLayer event name. This adds _stape to the events generated by the Stape app, turning names such as purchase and add_to_cart into purchase_stape and add_to_cart_stape.

You can then update your web GTM triggers to use the Stape-specific event names. If you no longer need the previous tracking implementation, you can also disable its corresponding tags to prevent duplicate requests.

For more information on event names and payloads, see our Nuvemshop app dataLayer documentation [link to the article].

Power-ups aren’t working

Issue: You enabled Custom Loader or Cookie Keeper in the Nuvemshop app, but they aren’t working as expected.

Solution: The app setting alone doesn't activate these features. First, enable the corresponding power-ups in your Stape account and complete their configuration. Then enable them in the Nuvemshop app settings.

Please keep in mind that these power-ups require your server-side GTM container to be hosted on Stape. Cookie Keeper also requires a paid Stape subscription.

Webhook tests don’t show in GTM Preview

Issue: Clicking Send test webhook in the Nuvemshop app doesn’t show up in server GTM (sGTM) Preview. That is because it sends the request from Nuvemshop's backend rather than from a visitor's browser.

Solution: You can use the sGTM Preview header config power-up to connect the webhook request to your server container's Preview mode:

  1. Open Preview in your sGTM container.
  2. Enable the sGTM Preview header config power-up in your Stape account and follow the configuration instructions.
  3. Click Send test webhook in the Nuvemshop app.
  4. Check the sGTM Preview window to confirm that the request was received.

Note: Preview header values can change, so always use the current value when testing. Disable the power-up after you finish debugging.

Purchase or refund webhooks aren't being received

Issue: You enabled the Purchase or Refund webhook, but the corresponding events don't reach your sGTM container.

Solution: Check that the server container URL in the Nuvemshop app is correct and points to the container you want to receive the webhooks. Then use Send test webhook to verify the connection.

If the test request still doesn't appear, check your sGTM Preview and webhook configuration before testing with a real transaction. Also make sure that the relevant webhook option is enabled in the Nuvemshop app. Keep in mind that webhook events are generated by Nuvemshop's backend. They are separate from the ecommerce events that the app pushes to the browser dataLayer.
